Dr. David Hamburg, President Emeritus of the Carnegie Corporation, is a renowned International policy expert and co-author of over 70 Carnegie Commissioned reports on Conflict Resolution and Preventing Deadly Conflict. He played an active leadership role for the Carnegie Corporation in the resolution of the Cold War and reduction in nuclear danger. He was past president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Currently Dr. Hamburg is Chair of the Advisory Committee to the UN Secretary General on the Prevention of Genocide. He also serves as Distinguished Presidential Advisor on International Affairs, National Academy of Sciences, and is a recipient of the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.
