Words, images in cyber space are non-dimensional and devoid of the signals that convey intent. We hear and see facial expressions, voice tone, body language to help decode and understand if a person's intent is humor, sarcasm, affection, caring, anger, hurt or frustration.

A new definition of human interaction is required. The absence of immediate, face-to-face human exchange requires that we take greater responsibility for our actions. As a nation we have repeatedly mourned the deaths of young people who believe that suicide is the only answer after being victimized by cyber communications – bullying, outing, sexting or false postings.

It is everyone's responsibility.
